Claude can now build live dashboards from your warehouse or Salesforce and show the query behind every number
The weekly "can you pull the numbers" request just got a new option, and the trust feature is the visible query.
What happened
Anthropic launched Claude Dashboards in beta on paid plans. It connects to data platforms such as Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks and Snowflake, takes a plain language question, builds a dashboard and keeps it current as the data changes. It also works with other connectors: Anthropic's example is a dashboard of Salesforce opportunities.
Every number can be clicked to see the query behind it, and each chart shows when its data was last refreshed. Anthropic positions it for quick, exploratory questions and says it works alongside BI tools: you can send a dashboard to Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog or Sigma, with Looker, monday.com and Tableau listed as coming soon.
Alongside it, Claude Motion entered beta on Team and Enterprise plans. It writes code that animates your text, charts and images and exports MP4, without a video generation model. Docs, Slides and Design left beta and are on every plan. For Enterprise admins, Dashboards and Motion are off by default.
My take
A lot of the reporting work I do for clients is not deep analysis. It is the sales manager asking how this week's leads compare to last month, and someone exporting a CSV to answer. Tools like this can take those one off questions off the ops person's plate.
Three things still decide whether the answer is right:
- Clean CRM data. If stages, owners and sources are inconsistent, a dashboard just draws the mess faster.
- Agreed definitions. "Qualified lead" should mean one thing, written down, before anyone asks an AI to count them.
- Checking the query. The click through to the SQL is there for a reason. Read it the first few times, especially on revenue numbers.
The scheduled stuff, like the Monday pipeline summary posted to Slack or the client report emailed every Friday, still belongs in a workflow you control. Use the dashboard for questions you have not thought of yet, and the pipeline for numbers people already rely on.
